Chicago!

Here I am sitting in John and Carolyn's apartment on day 2 of the visit.  Out the window I see huge city buildings (the tallest I can see from here is the John Hancock Building), a river, and navy pier.  I could get used to this!  I like Baltimore and all, but the more I visit bigger cities, the more I want to live in one.  If only Chicago wasn't so cold and windy all the time.  Though, I think I could get used to the weather.

Here is a recap of what we've done so far (pictures posted later when I remove them from the camera):

Day 1 (not counting Wednesday):

Carolyn had to work and John had class, so Casi and I walked up and down Michigan Ave to do some shopping and exploring.  We went to an apple store, a lego store, had our first drink at 11:45 am (while we waited for lunch to come out), and just enjoyed the sights/walk.

We met back up John and Carolyn and went out for italian beef sandwiches (my first) for dinner.  After dinner we went to a taping of wait wait... don't tell me.  It was pretty awesome.  John and Carolyn made fun of me a bit because of how excited I was.  I have a picture with Carol Kasell!  After the show we went out drinking with a bunch of University of Chicago students (probably about 100).  We finished the night by going to the wieners circle for a chicago dog.  The wieners circle was an interesting experience -- one that words won't come close to describing.

okay, I got lazy and didn't continue to blog about each day.  to recap, we saw the bean. went to top of sears tower, watched the river turn green, went to a second city show, ate lots of delicious food, and generally had a good time.  There are pictures both on facebook and on my picasa site.  Enjoy!
